Ending 2011 with ORANGE PRIDE

So I was recently voted Manager of the quarter for our region and then for the entire west divison. In an overly crowded world of people and groups nominating themselves or teammates with all kinds of accomplishments for a job well done, I can't help but smile over this small yet cool acknowledgement. That being said, I must stress the importance of the word "Team". Yes my name is on the title of "Manager of the Quarter", but it is really what we as a "Team" have accomplished in the recent years that has built it's way up to the end of the 2011 year. For one, I work with the greatest two Managers I could ask for. We have each others back through thick and thin, no matter what arises. This individual award went to me but I've never been the type of guy that relishes in these types of accolades. Don't get me wrong, I'm very appreciative and grateful but WE have done a great job. Together. Thank you, you know who you are :)
 Our staff. The girls, cooks, staff guy and hostesses. All are amazing at what they do on a daily basis. Not everyone can do what they do every day. As much fun as we all have and enjoy our time together, there is WORK to do.....yeah RIGHT lol. Man, the coolest part of this all is that we get paid to have a blast, make people feel welcomed and at the end of the day, try to just convince people that our brand of "Hospitality" is truly remarkable. And for the first time since the end of 2006, we succeeded in showing those around us that even in an economically fractured zip code, people still enjoy what we do as we were successfully positive from a profitability stand point. Numbers are just that, numbers. But they don't lie and we are a proud bunch in Rockford, Illinois. I would also like to say that without our awesome guests and every day regulars none of this would have happened. They understand that it takes more than just a tilted "skirt" and fake tattoos to provide great service. That sex appeal alone will NOT get it done on a daily basis but sex appeal PLUS great customer service and a warm smile travels a lot farther in the mind, heart and soul. Thank you. Now combine all this with a small but "delightfully tacky yet unrefined" tasty menu list and we have the ingredients for the best place to hang out with friends, family and your little "crumb snatchers" we call kids (whom we adore). Sure, we are not perfect by any means, never said we were but we definitely have fun trying to be lol. And after all where is there to go if you actually reach perfection? The road to try to be is what makes us all. It's what drives us to continue to learn, accomplish and see you leave with a big smile on your face and a full belly. Almost ten years I've been a "wingman" but at 38 years old it feels like I've always been here. This is what we do. This is how we do. And this is LOVE, from me to all who do it with me. Thinkin bout ya bro...


What’s up lil bro! Was just chillin thinkin about things. It’s 4:00 a.m. n drinkin a bud light and meant to actually do some writing. I guess I am writing. I was thinking earlier tonight while at work. Our nephew Chaz was there eating with a friend and I thought of how cool it would be to invite you in to eat. If you were here, I mean. And on me, of course lol. I wonder what menu item you’d enjoy most? The burger. Got big half pound burgers bro! Always good. Hmm…maybe the wings though. You always did love chicken J Especially my baked chicken with mashed potato’s n corn. One of the first major dinners that I made growing up. Sorry you guys had to suffer with the experimental early dishes lol. Eventually I got pretty good though. It felt great to make dinner or breakfast  for you as you grew up. I’d do almost anything to be able to now. Or even one more time. Whatever you like. Your choice. I know that’s not really possible. But maybe someday. I’ll be able to wow you with some great eats J. That is if the great Lord feels I’m worthy of this AND…..if there’s gonna be food where you’re at. Yeah I’m a chicken wing commander but, It’s just where I work. And although I love where I work and what I do, it’s not all I do. Let’s just say my baked chicken has gotten a kick in the ass over the years and come to think of it I haven’t made this in quite a while. Maybe I will soon.

Just sayin....

So, in a world all too full of blogs about this n that, blogs about blogs etc, I'm just a regular dude that some may think has had an interesting life. I have a job. I am grateful for this especially in an era where there are alot of people without one. I manage a restaurant where fun is just the beginning. Combine some tailgating food, a bunch of sports, a bit of drama and shake in a little lust and sex appeal and we have a perfect recipe for what I love to do. Lets just say I deal in "dead chickens" that are served by some of the most beautiful sales WOMEN in the world.....Yes it's THAT wing place and no, there are no buffalo's roaming around these parts :)
Why this place to work at and have fun with? Well, why the hell not?? I actually got here by accident, kind of. But over the next few months or years I'm gonna be posting a little bit of this, and a little bit of that....with the occassional sprinkle of some homemade seasoning I call Jorgito's world extract. You're more than welcome to read along, or just click away...this is part of something more personal for me but I dont mind sharing. I will try to add more on a daily or weekly basis because, after all, I do work and have a job to do...just sayin....
